The Society for Pediatric Sedation (SPS) partnered with Artisan to create its Sedation Provider Course with the goal of immersing clinicians in real-world decision making.
Medical training often involves an expert lecturing clinicians on new findings with a text-heavy slide deck. The Society for Pediatric Sedation was looking to make its flagship Sedation Provider course a challenging, engaging, and thought-provoking experience for learners.
Our instructional designers and a team of SPS physicians worked together to create five case-based scenarios that immersed learners into the complex decision-making process that is pediatric sedation. Rather than be told through lecture, learners make decisions and get feedback from an expert. Each case has a doctor character that acts as a guide and offers reflection on various choices. SPS has received excellent feedback on the course from its members as well as hospital groups across the country.
