Reggie Bush Is a Big Fan of Breakfast Foods — And So His Family

Reggie Bush and his family are big enthusiasts of the most important meal of the day.

“We love to eat breakfast in this house,” the former New Orleans Saints player, 39, exclusively reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly while promoting his partnership with Modelo. “So pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns, grits — I love grits!”

Bush added that grits are his go-to comfort food, adding that he will never pass up an opportunity to indulge in the porridge.

“Anything with grits, I’m gonna eat it,” the retired running back teases.

Bush and wife Lilit Avagyan, whom he wed in July 2014, share three children — Briseis, 11, Uriah, 9, and Agyemang, 7. At home, Bush credits his wife for making the family’s tasty meals.

“My wife is the chef in this house and she cooks [amazingly]. She holds it down,” he gushes. “I swear to God, she’s an amazing chef.”

While Avagyan, 36, makes a lot of “good” dishes, one of Bush’s favorites is her bayou seafood pasta. If he ever had to pick his last meal, that specific bayou seafood pasta would be his go-to choice — in addition to some cornbread.

Bush admits to Us that he’s always impressed with how the professional dancer will tackle any kind of meal for any occasion without a sweat.

“The other thing I love about my wife is that when it’s Thanksgiving [or] Christmas dinners and we have a lot of family over, she will cook the entire dinner by herself,” he says. “I’ve posted videos about her cooking all different foods that she makes, but it’s truly amazing how spoiled [the kids and I] are.”

In addition to making many of his favorite meals, Bush also credits Avagyan for encouraging him to try new foods, including items he was never fond of growing up.

“I didn’t eat sushi at all. My wife got me, she changed me on that when we first started dating,” he teases. “I was like, anything raw, I ain’t touching it. If it ain’t been cooked, it ain’t even been on a grill. I’m not touching it.”

However, Avagyan was able to convince him to give it a taste and now sushi is a “regular meal” for them.

“We love going to our little spots and eating sushi rolls and, and different things like that,” he explains. “And so that was the one thing that was definitely new for me when we started dating.”
